FTS is currently seeking a Employment Specialist for an Air Line company in Dallas, TX. This is a contract position.

The role of the Unemployment Insurance Claims Specialist will be responsible for reviewing, researching and processing 1000+ UI Claims per year. A successful Claims Specialist will work with little to no daily instruction.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the proper execution of the unemployment claim process, utilizing current unemployment logistics management vendor to ensure timely responses and cost management
  • Recognizing and analyzing trends in unemployment terminations and utilizing strong partnerships with Human Resource Business Partners, General Counsel, etc., to communicate insights and potential risk,
  • Focusing on financial impact of claims and actively pursues opportunities to enhance unemployment results and impact unemployment tax rates.
  • Manages the day-to-day information requests (via email, phone, mail, and fax) from third party related to unemployment claims and appeals, and responds within the pre-established timeframe.
  • Must possess strong consultative skills, strong presentation/facilitation skills, and the ability to influence others through their written and in-person interactions.
  • Reviews, researches and appropriately responds to unemployment claims, excercising discretion regarding the information/documentation being delivered.
  • Utilizing compliance software, ensures requested documentation and appropriate personnel participation at unemployment hearings in the most true and accurate manner.
  • Monitors the overall unemployment activity for the Company, identifying and acting upon areas that can impact tax rates and general cost management, initiating actions via the appropriate partners (HRBP, General Counsel)
  • Assists with developing communications/training, and seeks ways to improve overall awareness within the Company to drive unemployment cost management.
  • Extracts data from various systems using several HR reporting tools.
  • Maintains various logs and spreadsheets to track data relating to the Company's unemployment activity.
